Byala Reka Eco-trail

Meander through a river canyon taking in the sights and sounds of the Byala Reka (White River), deciduous forest and surrounding mountains. Along this 1 1/2 to 2 hour loop trail visitors can learn about nature through interactive signs and games, enjoy a picnic at one of the designated areas, and take a swim in the refreshing river water.

The trail is located near the White River camping area and Men's Monastery approximately 5 kilometers from the Kalofer town center. Visit the Trip Planning page to view a map of the region, which shows the location of the eco-trail and other places of interest. The trail is officially open from April to October, however visitors can use the trail from November to March but must first sign a waiver, which can be obtained from the Central Balkan National Park office in Kalofer. Contact the Kalofer's Tourist Information Center for further details.
